‘‘teach through testimony’’
Living Testimony
We are taught in those inspired passages to begin our quest for testimony with “a particle of faith” and with desire for it to grow. Tonight you have felt faith and that desire as you listened to stirring talks of the Savior’s kindness, His honesty, and of the purity His commandments and Atonement made possible for us.
‘‘Testimony requires the nurturing by the prayer of faith, the hungering for the word of God in the scriptures, and the obedience to the truth we have received. There is danger in neglecting prayer. There is danger to our testimony in only casual study and reading of the scriptures. They are necessary nutrients for our testimony.’’
Pure Testimony
Again, please keep in mind that we are talking about sharing real testimony, not just speaking generally about the things we are thankful for. While it is always good to express love and gratitude, such expressions do not constitute the kind of testimony that will ignite a fire of belief in the lives of others. To bear testimony is “to bear witness by the power of the Holy Ghost; to make a solemn declaration of truth based on personal knowledge or belief”
M. Russell Ballard, http://lds.org/general-conference/2004/10/pure-testimony?lang=eng&query=testimony
Testimony
‘‘When we bear testimony by the power of the Holy Ghost, others can receive a witness from the Holy Ghost. Then they will know that what we say is true. They also can gain a desire to overcome their faults and become better. Good testimony meetings can draw the members of wards or branches together so they feel like one big family.’’
“To meet the difficulties that are coming, it will be necessary for you to have a knowledge of the truth of this work for yourselves. …
“The time will come when no man nor woman will be able to endure on borrowed light. Each will have to be guided by the light within himself. If you do not have it, how can you stand?”
( President Spencer W. Kimball, http://lds.org/manual/the-latter-day-saint-woman-basic-manual-for-women-part-a/lesson-5-testimony?)
The Power Of Personal Testimony
‘’Our firm personal testimony will motivate us to change ourselves and then bless the world.’’
‘‘The testimony of Jesus Christ and the restored gospel will help us in our lives to learn of God’s specific plan for us and then to act accordingly. It gives us assurance of the reality, truth, and goodness of God, of the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ, and of the divine calling of latter-day prophets. Our testimony motivates us to live righteously, and righteous living will cause our testimony to grow stronger.’’

The Power of Strong Testimony
‘‘Your personal security and happiness depend upon the strength of your testimony, for it will guide your actions in times of trial or uncertainty.’’
‘’A strong testimony gives peace, comfort, and assurance. It generates the conviction that as the teachings of the Savior are consistently obeyed, life will be beautiful, the future secure, and there will be capacity to overcome the challenges that cross our path.’’
Richard G. Scott, http://lds.org/general-conference/2001/10/the-power-of-a-strong-testimony?lang=eng&query=testimony
Testimony
“Testimony isn’t something you have today, and you are going to have always. A testimony is fragile. It is as hard to hold as a moonbeam. It is something you have to recapture every day of your life”
( President Harold B. Lee, http://lds.org/manual/the-latter-day-saint-woman-basic-manual-for-women-part-a/lesson-5-testimony?)

Receiving A Personal Testimony
‘‘Our testimony comes by the gift and power of the Holy Ghost. The testimony received and carried within us enables us to hold a steady course in times of prosperity and to overcome doubt and fear in times of adversity. Each of us needs to know what a testimony is, how we can get it, and what our responsibilities are once we have received a testimony.’’
